HIDDEN SCAR

Chapter 2: broken agreement

“How dare her?” I muttered as I entered my car and slammed the door.

“Ms. Lana, is everything alright?” my chauffeur asked. His voice was laced with fear, it was obvious I scared him with the way I slammed my door.

Damn. I forgot he was inside the car.

I didn’t answer his question. Instead, I told him to take me to Pavilion Estate. He already knew where I wanted to go, so he drove off without asking anything else.

As we left my company, I glanced back. I knew she would be standing there, watching me. I had heard her footsteps behind me when I walked out of my office angrily. There she was, standing in her full might, as if it was okay to walk back into my life and call herself my mother.

Her figure slowly faded as the car sped onto the highway, but my thoughts were louder than ever. My past was still haunting me, and Austin was the only one who could help me when I felt this way.

Finally, the car stopped. I stepped out immediately and walked fast toward Austin’s condo. As soon as I entered, he wrapped his hands around my waist.

“I don’t like that you’re losing yourself. This isn’t like you,” he whispered in my ear.

I ignored him and pulled him into a desperate kiss. He tried to pull away, but I didn’t allow it. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him roughly until I almost ran out of breath.

“You are to please me, not lecture me,” I said firmly the moment I caught my breath but I didn’t let him speak before I abused his lips aggressively again and started unbuttoning his white shirt. His broaden chest felt right beneath my fingers. I would have love to devour his body with my tongue but I urgently need sex. It was the only thing that helped me forget my scars. I knew it was wrong, but it always worked for me.

Austin stopped me just before I unhooked his belt.

“I can’t continue with this,” he said.

I frowned, confused. This wasn’t the first time we had been intimate.

“I really like you, Lana, and I want you to confide in me when something is wrong. Please… I want more,” he said, cutting into my thoughts.

“Then let’s fuck” I said desperately because who wouldn’t choose sex over shitless conversation.

He shook his head and began to button his shirt, “You know what I meant. I want a fucking commitment with you not mere sex. How hard can that be?”

He was angry and he has every reason to be but he already knows how hard it can be so why is he frustrating me now?

Arrggghhh!!!

Anger slowly rose inside me. This wasn’t our agreement

Austin was one of the most famous models in the country. His father, Mr. Akinola, had strong connections, and with Austin’s striking physique, he became popular almost immediately after joining the industry. We had met a year ago at one of the award events I attended, and when I noticed how attracted he was to me, I offered him a no-strings-attached relationship. He accepted.

“Austin, we have an agreement. Don’t ruin it,” I warned.

He began pacing back and forth, mumbling angry words under his breath before stopping.

“I want a lot more than you are giving. I’m not a sex toy. I’m human, and I have feelings,” he said with determination, though I could still hear the sadness in his voice.

I couldn’t look at his handsome face. I was drowning in my own emotions, feelings I had carried for years, ones I could never share with anyone. I couldn’t give more, even if I tried.

“You’re asking for the impossible,” I whispered as I picked up my bag from his couch. It was a mistake to come here.

“So you want to leave? Just like you always do whenever I try to talk to you? You are fucking selfish.” His words froze me for a moment.

He has never said hurtful words to me but he was right. I am selfish. I can’t fucking share my feelings with anyone.

I nodded slowly. Right now, all I wanted was to forget everything that had happened in my life. Clearly, he couldn’t give me the kind of escape I was craving. I would have to deal with it in another fucked up way.

Without another word, I walked out.
